More about Lisette

My roots are in La Grande Pièce vineyard which means the big parcel and I suppose, by Katie's standards, at one hectare it is a pretty big vineyard. I'm here with 4000 other Grenache Gris below the Château d'Aguilar on the valley bottom just outside Tuchan.

We were planted back in the seventies when everyone was drinking the sweet fortified wines of the area. I'm a little bit different as I'm Gris as opposed to Noir or Blanc which makes me rather special and sought-after.

As I'm in the valley bottom where the soils are a little more fertile I was used to producing huge amounts of grapes for my previous owner. Since Katie has been looking after me she just wants the best grapes and isn't worried about quantity.

She loves our wine too and doesn't mix it with other grapes like some do. We have our own 100% Grenache Gris in her Vineyard Selection. She definitely knows how to make a vine very happy!
